Getting to Charleston

By AIr

For guests traveling by air, Charleston International Airport (CHS) is the most convenient option and is located about 20–25 minutes from downtown Charleston, depending on traffic.

CHS is a smaller, easy-to-navigate airport with nonstop flights from many major cities, making travel in and out of Charleston straightforward.

AIRPORT TRANSPORTATION

Once you arrive, there are several easy ways to get to downtown Charleston and surrounding areas:

  • Rideshare (Uber/Lyft): Readily available at CHS and the easiest option for most guests.

  • Rental Cars: Available on-site at the airport for those planning to explore Charleston or the surrounding beaches.

If you’re staying downtown, rideshare services are typically quick and convenient, but can get busy at times, so we recommend planning ahead and scheduling your ride beforehand if possible.

By CAR

If you’re renting a car or driving into Charleston, please note:

  • Downtown Charleston is very walkable, but parking can be limited in some areas.

  • Many hotels offer valet parking or nearby garages.

  • If you plan to explore beaches like Sullivan’s Island or Isle of Palms, a car is recommended.
